Rupert Alexander George Augustus Cambridge, Viscount Tremarton was the son of Maj.-Gen. Sir Alexander Augustus Frederick William Alfred George Cambridge, 1st Earl of Athlone and Alice Mary Victoria Augusta Pauline Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess of Albany.2 He was born on 24 April 1907 at Claremont House, Esher, Surrey, England.3 He died on 15 April 1928 at age 20 at Bellevue-sur-Saône, France, killed in a car accident.3 He was buried on 20 April 1928 at Royal Tombhouse, St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2
