- Margaret Rose Windsor, Princess of the United Kingdom was the daughter of George VI Albert Frederick Arthur Windsor, King of the United Kingdom and Lady Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon.2 She was born on 21 August 1930 at Glamis Castle, Glamis, Angus, Scotland.1 She was baptised on 3 October 1930 at Buckingham Palace, St. James's, London, England. She married Antony Charles Robert Armstrong-Jones, son of Sir Ronald Owen Lloyd Armstrong-Jones and Anne Messel, on 6 May 1960 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, England.1 She and Antony Charles Robert Armstrong-Jones were divorced on 5 July 1978.1,3 She died on 9 February 2002 at age 71.4
She gained the title of HRH Princess Margaret of the United Kingdom on 21 August 1930. She was awarded the decoration of the Imperial Order of the Crown of India (C.I.) in 1947.3 She was invested as a Dame Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1953.3 She was sponsor for Ian Richard Peregrine Liddell-Grainger of Ayton, Younger at his baptism.5 As of 6 May 1960, her married name was Armstrong-Jones. She was sponsor for Caroline Margaret Violet Aird at her baptism. She was awarded the decoration of the Royal Victorian Chain in 1990.3
