She was born on 25 May 1846 at Buckingham Palace, St. James's, London, England.1 She married Friedrich Christian Karl August Prinz von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg, son of Christian Karl Friedrich August Herzog von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg and Luise Sophie von Danneskjold-Samsöe, Countess Danneskjold-Samsöe, on 5 July 1866 at Windsor Castle, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2,1 She died on 9 June 1923 at age 77 at Schomberg House, Pall Mall, St. James's, London, England.1 She gained the title of Princess Helena of the United Kingdom.3 Helena Augusta Victoria Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess of the United Kingdom also went by the nick-name of Lenchen.
