She died on 31 May 1994 at age 73.

He married Charlotte Agnes Prinzessin von Sachsen-Altenburg, daughter of Ernst II Bernhard Herzog von Sachsen-Altenburg and Friederike Adelheid Marie Luise Hilda Eugenie Prinzessin von Schaumburg-Lippe, on 11 July 1919 at Hemmelmark, near Eckernförde, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.1 He died on 14 November 1978 at age 81 at Puntarenas, Costa Rica.1
