Cecile von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, Princess of Greece and Denmark was the daughter of Andrew von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, Prince of Greece and Denmark and Victoria Alice Elisabeth Julie Marie Mountbatten, Princess of Battenberg. She was born on 22 June 1911 at Tatoi, Greece.2 She married Georg Donatus Wilhelm Nikolaus Eduard Heinrich Karl Erbgroßherzog von Hessen und bei Rhein, son of Ernst Ludwig Karl Albert Wilhelm Großherzog von Hessen und bei Rhein and Eleonore Ernestine Marie Prinzessin zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich, on 23 January 1931 at Darmstadt, Hessen, Germany, in a civil marriage, They were remarried in a religious ceremony on 2 Feb 1931.2 She died on 16 November 1937 at age 26 at Steene, Belgium, killed in an air crash.2

She gained the title of Princess Cecile of Greece and Denmark.2

Andrew von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, Prince of Greece and Denmark was the son of William George I von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, King of the Hellenes and Olga Konstantinovna Romanov, Grand Duchess of Russia. He was born on 2 February 1882 at Athens, Greece.2 He married Victoria Alice Elisabeth Julie Marie Mountbatten, Princess of Battenberg, daughter of Admiral Louis Alexander Mountbatten, 1st Marquess of Milford Haven and Victoria Alberta Elisabeth Mathilde Marie Prinzessin von Hessen und bei Rhein, on 7 October 1903 at Darmstadt, Hessen, Germany.2 He died on 3 December 1944 at age 62 at Monte Carlo, Monaco.2

He gained the title of HRH Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark.3
