Louise Alexandra Marie Irene Mountbatten, Princess of Battenberg was the daughter of Admiral Louis Alexander Mountbatten, 1st Marquess of Milford Haven and Victoria Alberta Elisabeth Mathilde Marie Prinzessin von Hessen und bei Rhein. She was born on 13 July 1889 at Schloss Heiligenberg, Jugenheim, Hessen, Germany.1 She married Oskar Frederik Vilhelm Olaf Gustaf VI Adolf Bernadotte, King of Sweden, son of Oskar Gustaf V Adolf Bernadotte, King of Sweden and Sophie Marie Viktoria Prinzessin von Baden, on 3 November 1923 at St. James's Palace, Chapel Royal, St. James's, London, England.1 She died on 7 March 1965 at age 75 at Stockholm, Sweden.1
     She gained the title of HSH Princess Louise of Battenberg.1 She was baptised with the name of Louise Alexandra Marie Battenberg.2 On 14 July 1917 her name was legally changed to Lady Louise Alexandra Marie Mountbatten.1 Through her marriage, Louise Alexandra Marie Irene Mountbatten, Princess of Battenberg gained the title of Queen Louise of Sweden on 3 November 1923.
